THE WINDMILLS OF MY MIND - June 2008

MATTER

It's funny how when you are feeling particular emotions words just pour out of you. I sat down the other night and wrote a poem and it felt like my fingers were connected to my heart. Thankfully I am feeling much lighter today, sometimes I have to kick my own backside when I get to dark and heavy.


Insignificant
Other people leave their mark on the world
I leave a grain of dirt
It will be blown away by the first breeze
No one will ever even know I was there
Unlovable and unloved
No dates, no proms
Ugly in a world of pretty
No focus, no sure road in life

Doomed to factories with their darkness
Alone in my kennel with my friends
What was the point of me?
No achievements
No lovers
No possessions except pain and loneliness
I exist but I don’t matter
There is no purpose to me
Taught from a early age
I would never matter
So who cares
I think I might be ready
I think I will slip away quietly
I wouldn’t want to cause anyone any trouble
After all.
