STOP THE WORLD, I WANT TO GET OFF
April 9th 2009 07:48
I have come to the conclusion we have all gone mad. Today in Sydney amongst all the rest of the crazy ideas politically correct groups (who in my opinion live on another planet), come up with they decided to remove the crucifix from the church chapel at one of our big hospitals because it was offensive !!!!!!! (sorry about all the exclamation marks but I am pissed off).
And then within seconds some smug vegan glowing with health comes on my TV screen with a self satisfied smile,to let us all be warned that nurses (who don't get paid enough, and do an excellent and often unappreciated job) have been having a cigarette in thier breaks in the car parks of the hospitals, and are now going to be heavily fined if caught doing so, and hospital security will be watching them from now on,. Never mind about guarding the hospital, let's just get those pesky nurses.. I think they should all quit, let's see how well we get along without these smoking Florence Nightingales!
We attack teachers and the education system for not doing enough for our children when in reality they are practically raising a lot of them. I thought a teacher was there to teach education.....you know.......how to read, and write, and add, and subtract and all that rubbish. Obviously not it seems, they also have to provide sex education, teach them about drugs, control bullies, stop them from playing normal childhood games in case they scratch thier little knees. So where did the parents go? My god we are an unnappreciative lot, we have handed over responsibility that should be ours to people who are just expected to do more and more, and it's not right.
Work places have gone back to the dark ages. In a world where corporate greed and arrogance has finally caused hearbreak and trouble for us all, who pays for what they have done? You and me that's who. They have walked away with thier million dollar packages while workers are having thier hours cut, being made redundant, or being expected to work extra hours with a lot of extra stress. But the banks here continue with thier criminal bank fees and bleed everyone dry like the financial vampires that they are.
While the minority groups and do gooders are telling us all how to live our lives so that we will become glowing little robots, we let crime run out of control, anti social behaviour go unchecked or rewarded, greedy businessmen rake in more of our hard earned money, take all the power off the people that should have it (police, teachers, medical staff) while the civil libertarians and health police sit around with smiles on thier boring little faces.
We need to take our power and our responsibility back. It is NOT the job of anyone else but us to raise our kids and teach them to become decent human beings, it is NOT the job of politically correct groups to supervise how fat we are or what we can or cannot say (we are supposed to have freedom of speech), it is NOT the job of do gooders to tell me what I can or cannot put in MY body, I am owned by no-one !!
If these patronising paragons of virtue concentrated thier efforts on rape, domestic abuse, child abuse, the destitute, the lonely, old people we would be in a much better place than we are now.
The world has gone mad.

Damn nurses who smoke. Oh my God. They should all go out in the car park and turn lesbian, lick each others cracks so that no-one gets upset.

You seem almost insulted that I dare defend the police and teachers and nurses. One day you will run to these people for help when you are in trouble or ill and I think they deserve a little respect for that. But oh I forgot....we don't do that anymore do we?

I think it's disgusting that people think they have the right to tell others what to do in this so called free country. It's getting harder and harder every day to hold respect for many of my humankind (kind?) perhaps a new word is in order.
I still believe there are good people in the world Gaye. I meet a lot of them.

I also agree with you in relation to nurses and teachers. Not only are they very underpaid for the job they do, but it's the type of job that I believe needs a certain kind of person. For instance, I could never ever be a nurse. I just am not capable of that kind of work. I think you need to have a real vocation for either nursing or teaching. The sad thing is many people with that vocation choose other careers, because nursing and teaching isn't paid highly enough.
