THE WALL



Years and years of building a wall
an ongoing work of construction
it protects me with it's strength

Built with bricks of emotion
this barricade from life
I adore my safety from the world


Let others experience pain and love
let others participate in life
while my wall nurtures my fears

I am a watcher of others
experiencing nothing and understanding all
a stagnant heart in a fleshy shell

Like a protective groom
the wall is my partner in life
guarding the me that is never revealedcopyrighted to Gaye McInnes
