WHEELCHAIR LIZZIE

March 13th 2008 21:25

I want to tell you all a tragic story about a treasured member of my mad sister's family who I call Wheelchair Lizzie. Lizzie was the family's pet lizzard who lived in her beautiful glass house on the back deck of my mad sisters home, and enjoyed her little life full of sand and rocks, until one terrible day the dog got a bit too curious. In the ensuing catastrophe the dog played with Lizzie a little bit roughly, the kids were screaming and my sister was chasing the dog trying to save Lizzie.

When she finally retrieved lizzie from the mouth of hell, Lizzie had lost the use of her back legs but surprisingly this brave little soul went on to live a rich and fullfilling lizard life!

partytime!!!

The one problem lizzie had was climbing rocks, she kept falling off them! She would scale those lizard mountains, look around with triumph and promptly fall off and land on her back and then lay there with her useless little legs flailing around in midair, until someone walked past and righted her, very humiliating. Imagine how it feels to lay there helpless with all your bits on display?
is anyone there?

And so I suggested that maybe a wheelchair might be a thought for Lizzie the lizard, a little chair that she could sun herself in and have races around her rocks to amuse herself. Lizzie lived happily like this for quite a few months, she learned to wait patiently for one of her family to wander past and prop her back up again, until a tragedy occured the other night and plunged the family into mourning. During the night Lizzie fell off another rock but this time everyone was asleep and she landed underneath her heat lamp........yes, you guessed it, Lizzie baked to death!
And so now my friends we are planning Wheelchair Lizzies Funeral, We have picked out the casket for this brave little lizard

We have selected the music - CLIMB EVERY MOUNTAIN, and my sister has written a beautiful eulogy. Lizzie will always be remembered, and now I have to go and remove the glass house from the back deck because it holds to many painful memories!
